Yapp Charitable Trust
We make grants for running costs and salaries to small registered charities in England and Wales to help sustain their existing work. We will not fund work that does not focus specifically on one of our priority groups. Applicants that reflect our grant making policy have the best chance of success. We offer grants only to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40,000.

The Yapp Trust was rare among grant funders to provide grants for running costs to very small charities and grass-roots organisations, which could be a lifeline for these groups. This is also because they provide the total amount spread out over 2-3 years, so the charity if successful can then expect an annual payment for three subsequent years which helps to provide some confidence and financial security.

We would like to advice the funder to increase the amount of the fund (on second application) for those applicants who had a successful delivery of the activities.

The application process was relatively straight forward but it took longer than other bodies I've applied because of the format for some of the answers, particularly the financial questions, was not always clear. Also the text boxes are so small you can't see your whole answer without a lot of scrolling.
It's a while since I did it so I can't remember much of the detail.

They should know that the invitation to contact Yapp Charitable Trust to discuss a potential application is something that they should take up. My request was swiftly dealt with and the conversation I had was most useful and very professional.
The Yapp Charitable Trust application is easy to understand and complete.
The dates for when applicants are likely to hear a decision about their application to the Yapp Charitable Trust are realistic and honoured by the Trust.
The reasons given for the amount the Trust is eventually willing to offer are honest, understandable and reasonable.
