Yapp Charitable Trust
We make grants for running costs and salaries to small registered charities in England and Wales to help sustain their existing work. We will not fund work that does not focus specifically on one of our priority groups. Applicants that reflect our grant making policy have the best chance of success. We offer grants only to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40,000.

Funded for lesser amount - applied in 2019
The funders are interested in projects that make a positive contribution to local communities regardless of race, culture or religion. The emphasis seems to be on grass root organisations with clearly laid plans that will improve the lives of the beneficiaries and contribute to community development

the online application form was reasonably straight forward and not demanding to complete and the advisor was readily available and very helpful
How successfully do you think this funder is accomplishing its goals as a funder?

Average. We would have liked opportunity to take the organisation to the next stage with an employed staff which would have contributed greatly to improve co ordination of our activities. Our Volunteers are superb but can show divided loyality because they are not paid.
Nevertheless, over the last 3 years with the additional funding from Yapp foundation has seen its users grow to over 50 covering children, young people and their parents and has increased the commitment of our trustees.
Our organisation would have benefited from visits to see how much work we do. In our annual report we sent you pictures of one of our advise sessions, these are very informative very participative and considered very important for community development from our point of view

A very supportive trust for small charities, keep the grant application and reporting simple and proportionate. They have been a pleasure to work with, and appreciate that they fund for 3 years.

No, we have been fortunate to have received funding from Yapp for the past 12 years and Yapp seem to have a very good understanding and are sympathetic of the difficulties faced by small charities, even more so since Covid.
