Yapp Charitable Trust
We make grants for running costs and salaries to small registered charities in England and Wales to help sustain their existing work. We will not fund work that does not focus specifically on one of our priority groups. Applicants that reflect our grant making policy have the best chance of success. We offer grants only to registered charities with a total annual expenditure of less than £40,000.

The process works very well. If this same process is applied to future organisations requesting funds. We see no issues at all.

This funder cares and likes to get to know your organisation. Ensure you embrace the opportunity if they would like to visit you. Also ask questions if you are unsure about anything, they are very responsive, which certainly helps when completing a grant application.

Keep the application clear and simple - they are really good for smaller charities who don't have bid templates, loads of staff etc.

Be transparent about your charity’s current situation, challenges, and needs. They value honesty and detailed explanations.
Quite a straight forward application, overall. They are very willing to support small charities. The Trust secretary was fantastic, in following up both our and the trustees queries.

Really absorb what they say they will fund and then fully answer their application honestly showing how your work fits their criteria e.g. "will not fund work that does not focus specifically on one of our priority groups. Applicants that reflect our grant making policy have the best chance of success."
