Triangle Trust
We are a small independent grant-making trust that operates across the United Kingdom. We run two grant rounds each year through our open grants programme. We focus on young people and are currently funding work in the criminal justice sector that helps to reduce reoffending rates and first offences for those at risk of offending.

The online funding application form for stage one is succinct and the number of questions not excessive. It is useful to be able to download the PDF version of the application form but that does not provide the word counts and character counts so it is a good idea to note them from the online form. There is also a requirement to provide accounts and constitution (plus business plan if you are applying for over £10K) which is not mentioned in the pdf version of the form.

TT were hugely helpful in shaping our application - they encouraged us to think bigger and fill the gaps in the program we were applying for, rather than just ask for funds towards the existing project. In applying for the grant, think about where you would like to take your project, not just where it is now. And be reassured that the trust will discuss your application with you if anything seems awry, before a decision is made.

This is a very relational funder who is very interested in getting to know you as an organisation. They are very warm in their communication and good at responding.
Their criteria and focus is changing so they are no longer funding Young Carers however they involved us in a creative project during our grant which will benefit our own resources as well as those of other people supporting Young Carers.

The project currently is 2 years but ideally a longer project time would be preferred for recruitment purposes and to give time to embed the project and its outcomes.
