The Steve Morgan Foundation is passionately committed to changing lives for good, by working with partners that make a positive difference to those in need. Founded in 2001 by businessman and philanthropist, Steve Morgan CBE, we provide funding, support, expertise and best practice to the charities and organisations we support. By harnessing the power of working together, we address a range of areas including poverty, homelessness, health and wellbeing, and education and training, and have helped to improve the quality of life for more than 3 million people.

Be honest with the Steve Morgan staff they have many years experience and if you are open and honest with them they will try their very best to support your application and guide you through the process. Unlike other grant givers they listen to you and understand the sector. With this Foundation there is mutual respect.

From the first phone call to SM Foundation in 2016 I have been confident that they welcome the applicant to make contact with them. The Steve Morgan Foundation works in equal partnership with the applicants for the benefit of the most needy people in Merseyside and North Wales.
The application process is transparent and easy to work through.

A day rarely goes by in North Wales when I hear somebody say have you spoken to Steve Morgan about a project.

The team are always really easy to contact, and very friendly and approachable. Throughout the whole process, regardless of who you speak to, the team always remembered who we were and what we were about. They were very helpful in advising us with our application and answering questions.
Online application was easy to use and understand, and the guidance material covered all the information that we needed to know about our application.
How successfully do you think this funder is accomplishing its goals as a funder?

The team are very hands on, staying in contact with us throughout the process. After we received the news we were successful, the team were still always available to access for advice on a range of topics, and are more than happy to share resources and put us in contact with other grant receivers who we could share ideas and help with.
Their options for long term core funding are making a lasting change to our organisation, ensuring that we can continue to provide our services and make a lasting change.

They are really flexible to different organisation's needs throughout the application process. We really appreciate how communicative they were with us, and the onsite visit was a great chance to discuss our options for funding.
The team are knowledgable and are more than happy to provide advice on issues beyond funding. There is an emphasis on helping organisations increase their sustainability and future proofing their services that is beyond that of other funders.

The Steve Morgan Foundation really work to support you every step of the way. If you come through the first stages of the application process, they will usually send a Trustee to come and talk to you, this is a good opportunity to build a good relationship with them and, again, they are there to support your application and make sure it is as strong as can be. A really good Trust.
